Ross Cunliffe started the topic Hari Kunzru Transmission – digital eugenics in the discussion
Digital Utopia and Digital Genetics on Humanities Commons 8 years, 9 months ago
I am working on a new post in the digital eugenics category using Hari Kunzru’s Transmission as a framework. This novel is densely packed with provoking implications and philosophemes that cater to our DH orientated sensibilities. Among the conceptual felt that can lead any analyst down a multitude of paths, I have found a lot of stuff suitable t…[Read more]

Ross Cunliffe started the topic Please bear in mind that I am far from an authority and all is in flux in the discussion
Digital Utopia and Digital Genetics on Humanities Commons 8 years, 9 months ago
I am a recent English graduate at degree level and only two-and-a-half months into my Lit and Digital Culture MA. What I am aiming towards here is a process that, reached collectively, can result in some interesting and compelling arguments, insights, and maybe even some conclusions. This will hopefully be an interdisciplinary approach (but not…[Read more]

Check out my site and contribute if possible. It’s a uni project for an MA. It will be refined indefinitely while I read more on the topics. I have compromised a little quality to get it functional for now–as early as possible. Any insight or comments on the topics is MASSIVELY appreciated. Thanks guys.

Ross Cunliffe wrote a new post, Introduction, on the site A Rhizomatic Approach to Technological Utopianism on Humanities Commons 8 years, 9 months ago
Eugenics here is, at this very moment in our rhizome, purely rhetorical. This is not to evoke images of the Third Reich, or to provoke melodramatic, unfocused, and irrational discourse. What we are focusing on […]

Ross Cunliffe wrote a new post, Derrida: written text as ‘pharmakon’, on the site A Rhizomatic Approach to Technological Utopianism on Humanities Commons 8 years, 9 months ago
Derrida offers an exposition of the text (contrasted with the immediacy of the spoken) as pharmakon, in referencing a Platonic encounter between Socrates and Phaedrus. There is the creative freedom in the written […]

Ross Cunliffe wrote a new post, The role of youth, on the site A Rhizomatic Approach to Technological Utopianism on Humanities Commons 8 years, 9 months ago
Why is there a certain cultural malaise concerning the youth? There are many obvious and tacit approaches to this: such as their innate vulnerability, delicateness, and immeasurable preciousness to those […]

These two videos offer a more accessible entry into Deleuze and Guattari’s seminal concept:
Quite simply, a rhizomatic paradigm is the best way to utilise the internet’s infinite scope
When you come […]

Ross Cunliffe wrote a new post, Welcome, on the site A Rhizomatic Approach to Technological Utopianism on Humanities Commons 8 years, 9 months ago
Welcome to this blog, which, under the lens of Deleuze and Guattari, I would prefer to call an assemblage.
As part of my MA, I am instituting a network of academic collaboration on the topic of digital […]

Managed to get a First. Many things I would change now in retrospect. Far from perfect, but I am proud of this dissertation.

Hi Nicky,
As part of my MA course I am trying to institute a network of collaboration on the topic of digital utopianism with a particular tuning towards digital eugenics. I am also trying to make the network rhizomatic and free/open, so my status as project initiator will be irrelevant as it will be centred on complete omission of regulation.…[Read more]
