My research interests are focused on the intersection of literature, culture, ideology and identity in Latin America and the Caribbean, with special attention to the processes of construction and legitimacy of the literary canon and cultural influence. Most of my work approaches contemporary Cuban narrative and essay writing from a perspective that privileges the standards of legitimacy that articulate critical discourse.
