I’m an associate professor of history at UC Santa Cruz, specializing in Japanese and East Asian history. I am co-director of the Center for the Study of Pacific War Memories and a P.I. in the Digital Humanities Research Cluster at the UCSC Institute for Humanities Research. I direct ambitious, translingual and collaborative research projects with undergraduate students, including our current project, The Gail Project.
