      Hi all,

I hope you are well. Following our Denver 2023 hybrid meeting, the SSRIG is in need of a new chair or co-chairs. Here is a short breakdown of the time commitment to serve as the SSRIG chair:

The elected (co-)chair(s) will decide for themselves when, how often, and how long to meet based on their own schedules and ambitions. Past experience suggests:

      • Minimum 2-year term, from February 2024 to February 2026
      • Planning our annual meeting (~total 10 hours)
      • Submitting a brief annual report to the Vice President about our annual meeting and activities (~1 hour)
      • Submit summaries of activities to the editor of the SMT Newsletter twice per year (~1 hour)
      • Maintain active discussion/projects between meetings with SSRIG members via our Humanities Commons page (as often as you see fit)

In discussions related to the SSRIG history project, previous chairs shared that the interest group has gone on hiatus twice before due to lack of interest, and it is my sincere hope that our interest group will not need to do so again.

Nominations will be accepted up until January 1st, 2024 and may be sent in through this google form: https://forms.gle/YoCj8j7y3J4k15Vh8

Please reach out on this thread or by email with any questions you may have.

      Take care,

      Sara (sarabowdenemail@gmail.com)
