The Post-1945 Music Analysis Interest Group is a discursive space for scholars of music after 1945, with an emphasis on the modernist, experimental, and avant-garde. Through its annual meetings and online communications, the group aims to strengthen, support, and develop its members’ ideas and sense of community. It also seeks to bring attention to and foster scholarship on post-1945 music both within the Society for Music Theory and in music scholarship at large.

      Hi all,

With apologies for this process being delayed by 2 weeks, I’m writing to open up nominations for the webmaster position for SMT’s Post-1945 Music Analysis Interest Group. I’ve been in this role for the past 5 years, and feel about ready to pass the torch.

The website (smtpost1945musicanalysisinterestgroup.hcommons.org) is run through Knowledge Commons’s built-in WordPress platform, and is mostly pretty easy to use (particularly now that WordPress has a Block editor). Please feel free to write to me at noah.kahrs@nau.edu if you have any questions about the website backend.

Nominations should be submitted anonymously at https://forms.gle/6KCeE8Lmyq8pczLW9. This form will close 2 weeks from today, at midnight on Tuesday, November 26. After that, I will be in touch with all nominees.

      Best,

      Noah
