Bahujan criticism underlines the presence of not only literature of the Dalit, Adivasi, and OBC sections but also Brahmanical and other dwija (upper caste) literature; and it also brings out aspects of their fundamental (social) make-up and their consequences. It interprets entrenched values and aesthetics in various kinds of literature. Thus, piercing variety of screens, illusions, and linguistic pretensions, it seeks truly people-oriented literature, which can pave the way for the sublime in the feelings and thoughts of humankind.
Pramod Ranjan has mentioned the responsibilities of Bahujan criticism in this article. In this article, the social background of the characters of the stories of Hindi story writer Sanjay Kundan’s story collection ‘Boss Ki Party’ has also been identified.
