I just got a query about premiere dates for Perry’s Frammenti dalle lettere de Santa Caterina and Pastorale. These are both being performed by the Akron Symphony Orchestra this season. I do not have any info on the premieres of these works, but possibly one of you might know something? If so, please share or contact me!

I’m working on a conference paper on Perry’s The Selfish Giant, and there a lot of it is sprechgesang in the vocal parts and either a drone or a repeated figure in the orchestra. In one section I’m grappling with, she uses a (026) figure with interpolations and then reduces it to just an (02) set. What’s the accepted…[Read more]
