Education

2020PhD English Literature, specialization in North American ecopoetry. Dept. of Language Studies, Umeå University, Sweden. Thesis: North American Ecopoetry and the Anthropocene: Atmospheric and Geological Entanglements.

As a Doctoral Researcher I worked with ecopoetry as methodology and practice of thinking-with, using ecocriticism to research the formal devices of contemporary ecopoetry to explore and relate with the atmosphere and the geology of the Anthropocene. Supervised by Maria Lindgren Leavanworth and Daniel Andersson.

2014MA English and American Studies, specialization in North American Literature (poetry). University of Lisbon, Portugal. Thesis: A Nova Poética da natureza de Gary Snyder budismo e ecocrítica na sua obra (Portuguese).

This study of the work of North American poet Gary Snyder was the first thesis in the Portuguese Academy to explicitly use an ecocritical perspective to the study of poetry. Supervised by Margarida Vale do Gato. Final Grade 18/20.
