About
I am an independent scholar and former research associate (2005–2008) and research affiliate (2004, 2008–2020) in the School of Historical Studies, Monash University. I completed my PhD in musicology at the University of Melbourne (2001) focusing on the
music of Hildegard of Bingen (1298–1179). I have published on twelfth-century German plainchant and late-thirteenth-century music theory and am one of the collaborating editors and translators of Johannes de Grocheio’s
Ars musice (c.a. 1270) and Guy of Saint-Denis’s
Tractatus de tonis (c.a. 1301).
