Mark Beumer (1978) studied Ancient History at Radboud University and graduated with a master thesis about the Greek goddess Hygieia. Currently, he is a PhD-Candidate at Charles University Prague, First Faculty of Medicine. There, he is examining the Christian transformation of temple sleep in Late Antiquity from a historiographic perspective, looking through the lens of Ritual Studies (ritual dynamics).
