AboutI am a researcher in Italian literature with a strong interest in comparative literary and cultural studies. My main interest is in narratives, particularly novels and movies (and also more “technological” ways of telling stories, using digital media).
After graduating in Rome, I did postgrad research in Britain on the influence of British Modernism in Italy, focusing on how this anglo-italian connection transformed Italian national identity. After publishing a book on this topic, i worked as Senior lecturer at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg for three years, where I sharpened my interest in comparative, transnational and postcolonial cultural and literary studies. In particular I started a project the Algerian war of independence (1954-1962) in Italian Culture that I am hoping to finish soon. Here at Cork I am working on a Digital Humanities project on the Sicilian writer Leonardo Sciascia.
