I am University Tutor in English and Humanities in the Department for Lifelong Learning and an Honorary Research Fellow in the School of English, University of Sheffield. I co-lead the Gothic Bible Project in the Sheffield Institute for Interdisciplinary Biblical Studies (SIIBS).

I am currently co-organising an online study weekend on Religion and Victorian Popular Literature and Culture with Clare Stainthorp (QMUL) on 6-8 May 2020 in association with the Victorian Popular Fiction Association and the Centre for Nineteenth-Century Studies at the University of Sheffield and funded by the British Association for Victorian Studies.
