About

Dimitris Papageorgiou (b.1984), PhD, is a Greek violinist/improviser and composer, and a lecturer in Music at Edinburgh Napier University. Dimitris’ artistic research and professional activities explore the fields of (free) improvisation and performance, composition and music technology, encompassing contemporary music notation and interactive music systems. His recent artistic research outputs attempt to theorise and translate ‘comprovisation’ as syn-schediasmos both via practice-led research enquiries, and while tracing eco-philosophical and ethnomusicological reflections.
