broader, narrower, or related terms in addition to equivalents. I guess<br />
adding equivalents is helpful, especially in a cooperative environment like<br />
OCLC, but it does make for some pretty enormous records. Just another<br />
example of "linked data" looking more like "repeated data."</p>

records" really means. Were these searches on headings coded "homoit"? Even<br />
if it just means that users used the focused terminology in keyword<br />
searches, it's pretty impressive that the searches executed almost doubled<br />
between 2019 and 2024.</p>

<p>I've masked the LCSH headings in my catalog, so the search is still running on the official LCSH terms but "Gulf of Mexico" and "Mount Denali" display to our users.</p>
<p>I'd be happy to share more technical details but it's very specific to our discovery layer.</p>
