Ann Matsushima Chiu deposited Engaging the Future of Zine Librarianship on Humanities Commons 10 months, 2 weeks ago
As zine culture is popularized, the need for alternative publications in public and academic libraries is no longer something to be argued for, but rather something to be expected. The role of the zine librarian shifts from forming and establishing zine libraries to a longevity struggle of creating sustainable zine library models. The significance of the study lies within the specialized knowledge, current practices and lived experiences, with an emphasis on the need for institutional buy-in, succession planning, and continually building community within zine librarians networks.
