The decision to have either a face-to-face or virtual meeting in 2021 is one that requires careful consideration by the Board and by our members. We’d like to invite members from all membership groups to participate in this forum to generate solutions and discuss ideas of mutual concern.

Please read the Annual Meeting FAQ before posting to the forum, as it will point to some answers and outline what factors are still unknown. There are already some questions here to prompt conversation, and you are welcome to start your own discussion topics, too. Please do try not to add new discussion threads on topics that already have a thread, unless the new topic is substantially different. Will MLA be monitoring the modality of Chapter meetings to consider how to hold the 2021 Annual Meeting?

We’re keeping an eye on it, but the costs are so very different that they’re not very comparable as financial models. That said, seeing the success of virtual chapter meetings has been very informative, and these meetings show how stimulating and interactive virtual meetings can be.
