In the catalogue there are some wonderful photos of Beckmann with the students at the school…it is the one set of photos in which he looks as if he is at ease and enjoying himself. Apparently Quappi Beckmann attended the studio critiques with Max to translate the English he hadn’t quite become fluent in. Very interesting life stories.
