  Given that science fiction and fantasy constitute something like an alternative canon or a minor (some people would say subliterary) canon, we might as well open a thread on SF and fantasy, which will inevitably overlap with others.
  
  And I begin with this essay of mine on Stephen Hawking and Olaf Stapledon, a mixture therefore of science fiction and science and perhaps fantasy too. It can be found elsewhere on the web, but I have just located it to my surprise on this website on spirituality at Pamplona. And it does have some connections with age-old speculations in the tradition of theodicy:
