Hi Anne,
Apologies, I am the delayed one and thank you for responding! I have a number of file types often used in geo-spatial technologies. For example, boundary files in shapefile formats, including geo-databases. I use various such technologies in my work related to spatial humanities.
Thank you,
James

Hi James,
We can look into this! What file types would be most useful for you? Feel free to reply here or send an email (hello at hcommons.org). Apologies for the delayed reply!

It appears that files cannot be edited once they are accepted into the core repository. Is that correct? Can adjustments be made so that files can be edited? Thanks again, Rebecca

Hi, it would be great if we could view more than 20 HC groups on one page as it can take a long time to scroll through the full list. I would prefer up to 100/page. Also would be great to sort by groups not a member of vs. a member of and public vs. private. Thanks, Rebecca

Thanks for these suggestions! We’re planning on making some changes to the interface in the coming months. In the interim, we should be able to implement a filter for public vs private sooner. There’s a filter already for “My Groups” (of which you’re a member) and “All Groups.” Would you want to see a different option there?

Hi, I am just wanting to know if additional filetypes are planned for the core repository? I have a number of shapefiles and GIS related materials that I would like to upload.
Thanks!

Hi Andreas,
Thanks for the message! Creating a seamless way to provide feedback on items in CORE is most definitely on our roadmap, but we have some UX work to do before we get there. In the interim, I have a couple of suggestions:
1. Sharing something you upload with a group generates an activity record in that group’s /activity tab. You could…[Read more]

Hi all,
today I wanted to invite comments about a blog post of mine, but ended up being unsure of where to put this. At first I thought the post was a Doc (it’s a rather long and systematic blogpost) and tried to submit it to CORE, sharing it with the relevant Groups, but it appears CORE cannot ingest deposits referred to by URI only (no file, no…[Read more]

Hi @titusstahl and @paoloaranha, your wish is our command! Now more spacing between CORE deposits in profile—and they’re divided by category. Thanks for the feedback!

That’s also a good suggestion. In any case, this is what keeps me at this moment from uploading more documents to my profile. I have a lot of syllabi that I’d like to share, but if they’re mixed in between publications, I am afraid that this will just confuse visitors to my profile.

Andreas Wagner started the topic CORE: make publisher DOI a hyperlink in the discussion

Hi team,
first of all a thousand thanks for the platform and the opportunities you provide for scholars!
I would like to suggest making the “Publisher DOI” field in the CORE Deposit/Item View a hyperlink. Often what I can upload to CORE is just a post-print whereas at the publisher’s site, the final published version (with different layout,…[Read more]

Oh, and fonts look all different too! OK, I’m on Safari 10.0.2 and Mac OS 10.12.2, so that might be it. I’m going to get a developer to look into this right away. Thanks, @anatudugarit!

Hi,
Yes, I am logged. I have check with Emilie and it seems there is a problem with Safari (10.0.3) on Mac OS (10.12.3).I don’t have the right column after names.
Best,

Hi, @anatudugarit,
Are you logged in to Humanities Commons on Safari? I’m on a Mac too, and I just logged in on Safari and get this. As you can see, I followed you, so I now have an “unfollow” option, but I can follow others. As you can see from Émilie’s profile (viewed on a Mac in Safari), there’s also a “follow” link right under her profile picture.

Hi Rebecca, during a brief ‘provisional’ period, before the item is officially published, depositors can edit their deposit to make any corrections. (There should be a small green “edit” button beside the item’s status.) After that, you can send us an email if anything needs correcting. (More info here: https://hcommons.org/core/faq/.)
