ntroduce participants to the Public Philosophy Journal’s Formative Peer Rev

s and reviewers collaborate to develop the skills needed to engage in publi
c philosophical work. Brief presentations will 1) discuss the necessity of
rethinking scholarly writing for public engagement\; 2) elucidate the devel
opment and core values of the PPJ’s review criteria\; 3) demonstrate the re
view criteria’s instantiation on the PPJ’s publishing platform\; and 4) ref

The second half of the workshop will offer participants the opportunity to
 1) assess the value of the PPJ review criteria for evaluating public philos
ophy\; 2) practice approaching a composition from the perspective of a form
 ative reviewer\; and 3) review each other’s work\, or provided samples\, ac
cording to these criteria. Participants will come away with concrete soluti
ons for engaging in collaboration with a range of publics as well as a base
line for thinking about best practices in peer review from the standpoint o
 f public philosophy.</span><span> </span></p><p>Sneak peek:</p><p>[embed]ht
