TOTh 2023 Terminology & Ontology: Theories & Applications Conference & Training Session

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the 17th edition of the TOTh CONFERENCE on Terminology & Ontology: Theories and applications, held onsite at the University Savoie Mont-Blanc, Chambéry (France) and online, on 1 & 2 June 2023.

Created in 2007, the TOTh Conferences bring together researchers and professionals interested in terminology and ontology, and, more generally in the links between language and knowledge.TOTh is open to all streams of thought, and sets out to provide a forum of exchange and sharing where problems are presented along with solutions and feedback from experience, on both the theoretic and the applied planes, as well as new tendencies and perspectives in the disciplines associated with terminology, ontology and their applications to digital humanities and cultural heritage, bio-medicine, finance, industrial applications and so on.

The annual events that TOTh organizes include a conference and a training session at the University Savoie Mont Blanc, and a workshop organised by different academic and research institutions based on the bids received. The conference and the training session take place yearly around the first week of June, the workshop takes place in the early December.

Submission Deadline: February 12, 2023

Decision Notification: March 12, 2023

Training session Dates (this year’s topic: “Terminology & Digital Humanities”): 30-31 May, 2023

Workshop dates: TBA (early December)

Submission Guidelines: Submit an extended abstract between 12,000 and 15,000 characters including spaces, excluding the bibliography. The format for submitting abstracts is free. Submissions should be written in English or French.

  • Terminology, Translation, Linguistics, Computational linguistics, Natural Language Processing
  • Ontology, Knowledge Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning, Information Retrieval, Semantic Web
  • Applications of Terminology and/or Ontology in Information and Library sciences, Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage, Education, Finance
  • etc.

The conference articles will be invited for a submission in the TOTh proceedings. The proceedings are published in the “Terminologica” Collection (http://toth.condillac.org/proceedings) distributed by “le Comptoir des presses d’universités” (http://www.lcdpu.fr/).
