    Abstract:
Extreme Individualism & Dawkins Fallacy Dawkins argues that "gene selfishness will usually give rise to selfishness in individual behaviour” – That is an excellent illustration in academia of what David Hay referred to as “Extreme Individualism” – a problem in Western Academia which Virgilio Enriquez also brought to light. Virgilio Enriquez was a social psychologist and the Father of Filipino psychology "Ama ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino." The research model he used provided valuable information on culture-as-target and culture-as-source approach which have a tremendous influence in regulating practical applications.” (Wikipedia) As a point of information there have been 288 school shootings in the U.S. versus 1 in India and 1 in the Philippines according to Wikipedia. India has the prosocial idea-norm-value of Dharma (social order) embedded in their culture, and, as Jeremiah Lasquety-Reyes along with Reynaldo Ileto, and the theologian L Mercado and many other Filipino scholars point out the Kapwa (shared identity self as others value) – loob (relational will (vs western ideal of the individual as an absolute in a very sophisticated and interconnected social society) also are prosocial norms-values embedded in Filipino culture While many social psychologists appear to recognize kapwa-loob as norms-values, few seem to think about the academic norms such as Dawkins selfish gene norm or worse the Materialist norm that “All spirituality is unreal” – those are norms – or maladaptive stereotypes as the case may be.
