    Abstract:
    The genesis of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has called for major transformational changes in all spheres of life. Education is one of the fields that have experienced complex technological innovations. The curriculum which is the heart for many institutions of learning has become a vibrant progression due to the changes that have come with AI. The paper has looked at the current state of ICTs in relation to whether it will support the operation and adoption of AI in the education sector. To a developing country like Zambia, current and anticipated benefits of AI in education have been discussed as well as challenges that the country is facing. The focus in discussing the benefits and challenges ranged on three important areas namely skills, environment and culture.
