    Abstract:
The drawing 'Autonomous Terrace' by anarchist artist Clifford Harper was published first in the book 'Radical Technology' in 1974 as part of a series of illustrations "that although they are utopian images they depict an existence that is immediately approachable" (Harper 1984, p. 99). In Harper's (ibid.) words, "all it would take is the seizing of a few empty buildings and the knocking down of a few meaningless walls, as has been realised by the occupants of the hundreds of squats, collectives an co-ops whose walls theses pictures adorn". This version of 'Autonomous Terrace' was taken from Harper, Clifford, 1984, The Education of Desire. London: Anarres Co-operative, p. 4.
