- Abstract:
__________________________________________________________________________________ English abstract: Language cannot be understood apart from evolution. It does not suffice to give an evolutionary explanation for a "language capacity"; it is the evolution of language itself that has to be explained, language in act and not in potentiality. In a nutshell, the question is not just to find out whether our ancestors spoke, since both then and now one can speak without saying much, and even parrots can speak—without language. What has to be investigated is what they were capable of saying and of conceiving. Note: Downloadable document is in Spanish.
