    Abstract:
This poster presentation highlights the creation of an online resource through the process of inventorying, identifying, cataloging, digitizing, and providing access to the holdings of the Museum of Neon Art in Glendale, California. With collaborative efforts and grant support, the museum’s collections – including fine art, historic signage, photographs, ephemera, and publications acquired over four decades – have recently been made available online for search and discovery. The poster details ways in which this digital resource can contribute to the preservation and continuation of the endangered art form of neon, illuminating hidden community histories while expanding audience and practitioner diversity. Strategies for improving discoverability, accessibility, and interoperability are discussed through the lens of emerging technologies.
