This piece of research focuses on studying the information on robotics and artificial intelligence offered by the Spanish media in order to find out to what extent such information reproduces and feeds, or not, sexist stereotypes, thus contributing to the construction of future imageries of discrimination against women or equality. To do so, a sample of 384 articles on the subject published in the digital editions of El País, El Mundo and La Vanguardia during the period from January 2017 to March 2018 has been examined. In this context, we analyze the relationship between androcentrism and technology as reflected in the information of the newspapers examined in the reference period and we subsequently set out the future imagery of the feminine that such information contributes to build. We conclude by highlighting, in view of the results we obtained, the undoubted need for training in gender and scientific culture for citizens and for media professionals, as an essential element to build a future society based on equality.
This piece of research analyzes the media context of the WannaCry cyberattack in relation to the crisis communication carried out by Telefónica with respect to that exercised in the Telecommunications sector, applying, in two intervals of the cyberattack, the grounded theory to the media discourse of the press. Despite the improvable reputation of the corporate brands in the Telecommunications sector, the immediate reaction, the informative transparency exerted, the collaboration with public bodies and others affected and a quick solution to the cyberattack are the fundamental categories on which a stronger reputation than that of its direct competition has been built during the crisis communication, transferring the traditional official spokesperson to the social networks of one of its directors. The negative feeling of 14% that emerges from the media discourse during the first wave of cyberattack coincides with the 12% shown by citizens on Twitter, so the published opinion is consistent with the opinion of the public. Despite this, there is a greater incidence of the negative approach in the “confidential” digital newspapers, less exposed to the advertising pressure of the large corporate brands and more to the loss of journalistic values alluded to in the scientific literature.
With the growing power of online consumers and the increased penetration of the internet around the world, online brand communities have formed an important communication platform between companies and consumers. These social media have offered consumers the opportunity to share opinions, recommendations and experiences through comments, images or videos with other users, which can be read and commented among them. In this way, this research intends to analyze if the perceived benefits are related to the obtaining of commitment or engagement on the part of the users in the social networks of the hotels. For this, a quantitative analysis has been carried out by means of a questionnaire addressed to the followers of the social networks of hotels or hotel chains. Thus, 4 hypotheses have been proposed to analyze whether the 4 identified benefits (functional, socio-psychological, hedonic and monetary benefits) are directly related to the 4 variables identified in the engagement (user participation, trust, affective commitment and loyalty), being able to contrast so if the benefits perceived by users in these social networks caused an increase in the 4 variables of engagement. The results specify a positive link of the socio-psychological and hedonic benefits perceived by the user with a greater engagement, however, there is more discrepancy in the functional benefits and, above all, to highlight the scarce transcendence of the monetary benefit to achieve a greater commitment with the users.
The podcast is one of the diverse collaborative tools that are implemented in Digital Journalism, being an easily distributed format that can provide a dynamic and creative space for the social communication professional. This piece of research aims to evaluate the podcasts that are published on news sites in the city of Puebla, Mexico. The variables that were considered were: function, production and dissemination of the podcast. Research was qualitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and non-experimental. The information was collected from an observation guide. The categories used for the evaluation of the recordings were: production, journalistic function and dissemination. The results showed that podcasts are, mostly, full or partial recordings of live programs. Their function is primarily informative and is not applied as a channel for investigative journalism. In addition, it was identified that the stations do not track the leagues and the interaction that podcasts themselves generate.

The protection measures are those attitudes and decisions that the State takes into account through its various public institutions, in order to make effective the care and protection of the victim of the aggression, with respect to the aggression itself and its aggressor; they are mechanisms that seek to provide support and protection to the victims of the aggressions and prevent their continuation. The present research work seeks to establish the current situation regarding the granting of protection measures, as well as the application of the Pro Homine principle at the moment of issuing them, as a philosophical basis for the elimination of vulnerability in gender. This work shows definitions and application of the principle as well as conclusions and recommendations in the decision making under its elucidation.
The objective of this piece of research was to analyze if the attitude toward feminist thought, in a Latin cultural context, influenced the attitude toward different advertisements that used sexual appeals to the body of women. This study was based on theoretical research conducted by Hojoon Choi, Kyunga Yoo, Tom Reichert and Michael LaTour (2016). There were 4 advertisements with various types of sexual appeals: complete nudity, semi-nudity, no nudity and hostile sexism. The results show that the average feminist attitude (M = 3.52, SD = 0.82) is from fair to good and there is a significant difference between men (M = 3.38, SD = 0.87) and women (M = 3.64, SD = 0.77). Women show a slightly more feminist attitude than men. Regarding attitudes to advertisements with different types of sexual content, it was evident that there was a significant difference in the means of ethical attitude towards them. The higher the level of nudity used in the advertisement, the more negative the ethical attitude was. In addition, the average ethical judgment on the ad with “hostile sexism” was significantly different from the ad with semi-nudity and complete nudity. Of the four ads, a significant difference could be found between the feminist attitude and the ethical attitude toward the ad that contained images of hostile sexism. The group with a high degree of feminism had a more negative ethical attitude toward the ad with hostile sexism (M = 3.81, SD = 1.69) compared to the low grade feminism group (M = 4.19, SD = 1.40).
Although it was one of the great movie blockbusters of the time, Joan the Mad… once in a while (José Ramón Larraz, 1983), received harsh criticism from the specialized public, who saw in the film a painful way of making movies. Characters, ambience, script, interpretations, etc., nothing escaped the pen of the critics, who vented their criticism on it. Even so, the public connected perfectly with it, not in vain, the Court of the Catholic Kings came to make the distant Spanish transition their own. Through the following research, we want to value this important contribution of Spanish cinema, as a document that perfectly reflects the political, social, cultural and artistic life of the Spanish Transition, offering a compendium that allows us to understand the thoroughness and intellectuality of the script in all its complexity.
