Master’s student of Philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) (2016–). Undergraduate student of Art History at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) (2016–). Holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from PUCRS (2016), having taken a semester of studies of Sociology and Philosophy at Concordia University of Edmonton (2014). Worked as research assistant at Carleton University’s School of Public Policy and Administration (2015). Is a member of the research groups “Logics of Transformation: critiques of democracy” and “Systematic Philosophy: dialectics and philosophy of law”, at Brazil’s National Council for Scientific and Technological Development. Currently works as visiting researcher at Université de Montréal (2017–18).

MemberGiovanna Gobbi Alves Araujo

Giovanna Gobbi holds a Dual Bachelor Degree in Portuguese and English studies and a Bachelor of Education from the Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil. She was an English major exchange student at Concordia University (2001-2002), focusing her studies in North American Literature and Creative Writing. She holds an M.A. in Brazilian Literature from the Universidade de São Paulo (2015). Her M.A. thesis focused on the representation of the Paulo Afonso Falls in 19th-century historic/political, pictoric and literary discourses. She is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Brazilian Literature at the University of São Paulo, with a research project that examines African-american and indigenous representation in Brazilian romantic poetry of the nineteenth century. She was a Fulbright Doctoral Dissertation Research Award grantee and a Research Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2018-2019).
